Embark on a thrilling 4-day budget-friendly safari that combines the breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife of the Maasai Mara National Reserve with the unique ecological diversity of Lake Nakuru National Park. Departing from Nairobi, this group-joining tour is a perfect way to experience two of Kenya's most iconic destinations.

In the Maasai Mara, you'll venture onto the great African plains on daily game drives, searching for the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo) and witnessing the incredible wildlife action, including the famous Great Migration (seasonal).

Lake Nakuru, often called the "Bird Watchers' Paradise," offers a different kind of beauty, with a diverse habitat of wooded grasslands, picturesque ridges, and a stunning lake. Here, you'll have a chance to spot endangered White and Black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and a variety of predators like lions and leopards, all set against a backdrop of a pink-hued lake often dotted with thousands of flamingos.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel. We'll depart for the Maasai Mara, making a stop at the scenic Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos. You'll arrive at the reserve in the late afternoon, where you will immediately begin an exciting en-route game drive as you head to your camp. After an evening game drive, you will settle in for dinner and your overnight stay at a budget campsite.

Day 2: Full Day in Maasai Mara After breakfast, we'll spend the entire day with a packed picnic lunch, exploring the vast plains of the Maasai Mara. This unique park forms the northern part of the famous Serengeti ecosystem, offering endless opportunities to spot wildlife. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit a Maasai village to learn about their rich culture or take an optional hot air balloon safari over the plains (at an extra cost). All meals and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Day 3: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru Enjoy a final early morning breakfast at the camp. After check-out, you'll depart for Lake Nakuru with a final en-route game drive and a picnic lunch. You will arrive in Nakuru in the early evening, where you will check into your budget hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi After breakfast, we will head into Lake Nakuru National Park for a morning game drive. The park is renowned for its large population of flamingos, which often turn the lake pink, as well as a sanctuary for endangered rhinos and Rothschild giraffes. After lunch, you will depart for Nairobi, arriving back in the city around 4-5 PM, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
