Located on the edge of Nairobi National Park, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust offers a unique and heartwarming experience. This world-renowned project is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of orphaned baby elephants and rhinos. These young animals have lost their mothers to a variety of tragic circumstances, from poaching and injuries to simply getting lost in the wild.
The dedicated team of keepers, who act as surrogate parents, provides around-the-clock care, feeding, and emotional support to the orphans, all with the ultimate goal of preparing them for a life back in the wild.
A visit to the orphanage is a rare and unforgettable opportunity to get up close with these majestic animals. During the daily public feeding time, you can watch the baby elephants interact with their keepers, playfully take mud baths, and joyfully drink from their giant bottles of milk.
